Dave and I’ve done it all...

We’ve worked for ourselves: built companies from scratch, had employees, pay-roll, office hours. Talk about continuous “fire fighting”! We’ve also had the “partners from hell” in other businesses and worked ourselves into early graves as independent consultants selling our “time”. We tried MLMs, too. Most recently, we were both recruited for the corporate thing, with big fat salaries and fluffy benefits that tied us to a 60-70 hour work-week. Where “Crack Berries” were generously handed out so we could answer email and phone calls late at night and on the weekends. All of this came with 2 weeks off per year. No thanks! We’ve wasted countless life-hours commuting in bumper-to-bumper traffic. I even went back to school and got a graduate degree! Our big “Ah-ha” came as our youngest headed off to college and we were officially “empty-nesters”. For the first time ever the kids didn’t really need us – they just needed a check for their college tuition and expenses : ) That really got us thinking about what we wanted to do with our life now. We’ve always managed to make a nice living, but we never really understood how to leverage our time and make money the way the wealthy do so that we could work less and enjoy life more. We figured, we weren’t born with a silver spoon in our mouth so the only way to get ahead was to work, work, & work harder still.

Still a little skeptical, I told Dave
